Chef Flynn

At 10 years old, Flynn McGarry was already an accomplished nouvelle cuisine chef, opening a supper club in the living room of his California home, where he served a seasonal foraged tasting menu to wide-eyed Los Angelenos, while his classmates acted as line cooks. Luckily, his filmmaker mother documented every moment. With sudden fame, Flynn outgrows his bedroom kitchen and mother’s camera, and sets out to challenge the hierarchy of the culinary world, causing a flurry of reactions on social media. Cameron Yates’ documentary is a delicious portrait of a rising star that’s sure to activate your taste buds, as well as a reflection on motherhood and what it means to give up one’s own identity in furtherance of a child’s passion.
