AESTHETICS AND LIGHTING IN CINEMA: Workshop for Students

There’s no film without a point of view. Visual style is essential to creativity. Cinematography is key in defining our personal style, which will, in turn, affect the narrative approach. But how does one manage to achieve a specific aesthetic and what are the tools that will get you there?

In this workshop, we will approach creative videography through a series of individual and group exercises and learn various techniques that will help us achieve a more polished look on all future audiovisual work.

The goal of this workshop is:

– To get a better understanding of the role the cinematographer plays in the process
– Learn different techniques of natural and artificial lighting
– Learn how to take full advantage of the different lenses and what they have to offer
– Learn how to run a shoot and how to communicate with the rest of the team

No prior experience of filmmaking is necessary to participate in this workshop. The content will be adapted to the skill level of the participants and all equipment will be provided.
