Around the World When You Were My Age

In 1969, director Aya Horetzky’s father, Jiro, decides to leave Tokyo and travel around the world. Some decades later, he discovers a metal box full of photographic negatives, travel diaries and drawings from the trip of a lifetime. At the age of 30, the very same age her father was when he embarked on his adventure, Aya Horetzky decides to make a cinematic portrait of her father’s travels. In navigating landscapes, mountains, and seas suspended in time, Aya vicariously travels around the world and around the mind of the man who raised her.
