Dogtown and Z- Boys

The ultimate skateboarding documentary follows the evolution of the sport from an earthbound pastime for bored California surfers on no-wave days to its establishment as the ultimate urban extreme sport, full of risky acrobatics and flashy tricks. Stacy Peralta, a Z-boy in his own right, documents the skateboarding boom of the 70s that turned empty Santa Monica pools into oceans of urban adrenaline, until the decline of the 80s and the dynamic comeback of the 90s, while outlining some of the most skateboarding pioneers of the time.
