I Believe I Can Fly

If you’re afraid of heights, we recommend that you stay away from this particular screening! Born and raised in the French Alps, the self-taught filmmaker Sébastien Montaz-Rosset puts his experience with extreme sports to good use, making a film that could very well be called “Vertigo”! His main characters, trail-blazers like Tancrède and Julien, take highlining – a vertiginous combination of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking – to new heights, from Parisian skyscrapers and the Verdon gorge to the spectacular cliffs and fjords of Norway. Their goal is to push highlining and BASE-lining beyond the realms of possibility embarking on a new evolution of the sport, while the talented Monsieur Montaz-Rosset uses an inspired combination of filmmaking techniques to capture image that will take your breath away. His camera translates the terror and the wonder experienced by a handful of dare-devils attempting to make humanity’s most ancient dream come true: flying!
